2019 Art Achievements
A-level Art Exhibition
Ten talented Year 13 students showcased their artwork in an exhibition on the 6th of June. Many staff, students and parents had the chance to view the artwork, from sketchbooks to large scale final outcomes, which had been developed over the two year course. Feedback from the event was fantastic, with many saying the work was inspiring, skilful and inventive.
GCSE Art Exhibition
The GCSE art exhibition was held on the 23rd May. Our art students created a display of coursework and a board of exam work. As I am sure those who viewed the exhibition will agree, much of the artwork was beyond GCSE level and we are lucky to have so many talented students at Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School! Members of staff are already asking to have the work displayed in their offices around school! All students involved should feel extremely proud of their hard work.
‘Dog’ by Calvin, SHFGS Year 11 student, has been selected for The Royal Academy’s online exhibition of the ‘Young Artist Summer Show’. This is an enormous achievement, the piece was selected from over 6,200 submissions from students across the country.
